The ‘Building Elements’ option may be used when no rooms or spaces have been set in the model. Even if the model is at an earlier stage, Guardian Glass for BIM will provide analysis using the model geometry and reads analytical shade surfaces.
Both options for detailed models provide the same features, but the BIM model will be read differently depending on what information is present in Revit. There may also be a different number of Façades and Surfaces when the Building Elements option and the Spatial Elements option are compared since Surfaces are defined differently in each method.
Note: It is important that the building enclosure is complete for both Detailed options. Major gaps in geometry will create issues where floors, walls and roofs do not meet fully. If the building has scaling issues (eg. it has been imported or created for schematic studies but dimensions are unusually small) Building Elements may have issues identifying all the elements.
There is a setting in the Settings Tool for adjusting the tolerance between geometry that is in close proximity eg. Structural columns close to Windows. By adjusting this slider, you may find that the results improve (if current results exclude some glazing elements).

If the Progress Bar does not start loading the elements, there may be an issue with the Energy Model generating correctly in Revit. This may be due to Building Enclosure issues where there there are gaps in the model envelope. If you suspect that this is the case, you may open the Energy Settings in Revit and adjust the Analytical Resolution for Spaces.
By increasing this value, it may help to load the model in the application. Increasing the value may speed up the Energy Model creation time but may not produce the same accuracy. Adjustment is advised only for the purpose of resolving a model that does not open with the application. There may be other modeling issues or Energy Settings that require adjustment to allow it to load correctly. Please see Section 12.1.3 for more information.

Note: The maximum value for Analytical Space/Surface Resolution is 10 feet (3048mm).
The minimum value for Analytical Space Resolution is 6 inches (152.4mm).
The minimum value for Analytical Surface Resolution is 3 inches (76.2mm).
